She didn’t feel like she was born a sinner. Life may be hard, but it wasn’t without beauty. Just behave and get through this life, then you will have your eternal reward. It couldn’t be that simple. It would be so much easier if life were wrapped up in a bow like the pretty girls in Sunday dresses she sometimes envied. But she knew there was more, more than she would probably ever know in one lifetime, or even several lifetimes. Something led her out of the house and into the autumn night. The harvest moon lit up the sky, showcasing the decaying remains of summer. A crow flew close to her and somehow silently told her what she already knew. “You have everything you will ever need within yourself.”
